CORPORATE STRUCTURE AND SERVICE AREAS OF ISTANBUL TTO

TÜBİTAK 1513 Technology Transfer Office Support Program kapsamında 2013 yılında destek almaya hak kazanan 10 TTOs arasında yer alan İstanbul TTO, was incorporated as a company in 2017 and began continuing its activities within a corporate structure.

İstanbul TTO works to ensure that research outputs produced at Istanbul University are transformed into social and economic value, to strengthen university–industry collaboration, to support the university in making more effective use of national and international funding sources, to develop academic entrepreneurship, and to accelerate the commercialization of intellectual and industrial property rights.

Providing services at Istanbul University’s Beyazıt and Avcılar campuses, İstanbul TTO’s main areas of activity are:

  • Development and management of University–Industry Collaboration processes

  • Management and commercialization of the Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights portfolio

  • Entrepreneurship services (in collaboration with Entertech)

İstanbul TTO continues to provide services and carry out activities for university researchers and academics, primarily including stakeholders within Istanbul Teknokent (Entertech), as well as for public and private sector institutions and organizations.

VISION

To be a leading technology transfer office in transforming knowledge, research, and innovative ideas produced at the university into social, economic, and technological value.
To become an impact-oriented center that establishes strong and lasting bridges between academia, industry, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem by creating a reliable, transparent, and sustainable technology transfer ecosystem at both national and international levels.
To contribute to the development of a university culture in which scientific output does not remain solely as academic output but is supported by commercialization and societal benefit.

MISSION

To support the effective protection, development, and commercialization of academic knowledge, research outputs, and innovative ideas produced within the university.
To provide comprehensive and high-quality services for academics, researchers, and students in project development, funding and call matching, intellectual property management, licensing, entrepreneurship, and university–industry collaboration processes.

To ensure the proper management of intellectual and industrial property rights, protect the rights of inventors, and accelerate the transfer of university-based technologies to industry and society.
To encourage the transformation of innovative business ideas into sustainable ventures through entrepreneurship and incubation activities, and to provide guidance during the preparation stages of investment processes.

To disseminate the culture of technology transfer through training programs, workshops, and awareness activities; and to strengthen knowledge sharing and collaboration among stakeholders.
To contribute to transforming the university’s scientific expertise into added value at national and global levels by conducting all these processes with a commitment to transparency, ethical values, and a quality-oriented approach.
